Shopping Online FAQs

No, you can opt to check out as a guest, but we strongly recommend registering as it allows you to log back in and view your order/check on progress.

At present our new website is set up with Paypal as the main payment option.  You do not need a Paypal account to use Paypal, select the option and then on the next screen (Paypal's encrypted screen) you can choose to pay by card.

Over the next few weeks we will be adding both the option of entering your card details in on the website and Amazon Pay to our available options, giving you the option of logging in with your Amazon account details and paying with linked cards.


You can choose to have your parcel sent by 1st or 2nd class post, or courier (courier services take upto 72 hours).  If you spend £40 or more and are based in the UK you will qualify for free postage, depending on the weight of the parcel and value of the order, we send free delivery parcels via 1st class post or courier.

If you are based overseas we will send your parcel via Royal Mail or courier, depending on the weight, shape and value of the order.  Overseas shipments should take approximately 1 week to arrive but can take longer if goods get stuck in customs.



We do not have a traditional bricks and mortar store, so it is not possible to browse fabrics at our main location, but you are welcome to arrange collection from us, here in Witney, Oxfordshire.  Select 'collect from store' from the postage options and we will contact you when your order is ready.


We aim to despatch all in stock items within 72 hours, and then the amount of time taken for the order to reach you will depend on your location and the postage service you have opted for (see what shipping methods do you provide for further information.

If you need to cancel your order contact us using the contact form on this page as soon as possible and we will do our best to stop your order before it is posted.

If this is not possible you are of course welcome to return the good, in their original condition, for a refund.  Please note you will be responsible for postage costs.


If you are unhappy with your order, either because there is a fault or you have not received what you ordered, or if you have simply changed your mind, please contact us via the contact form in the first instance.

You can find out more about our returns policy by clicking here, but in summary, if we make an error with your order, or if something is faulty we will, of course, cover the cost of return and replacement.  If you simply change your mind, as long as the item/s are in their original condition, we will be happy to accept a return for a credit note or refund, but you will be responsible for covering postage costs.


Sewing School FAQs

Sewing lessons are held in Ducklington, details of the address are sent out with joining instructions approx 1 week before your lesson. 

If you are booking a one to one lesson, or organising a group event of your own, we can hold the lesson in Ducklington (upto 4 people), on Cogges in Witney (upto 2 people) or at a venue of your choice.

If you have a sewing machine we recommend using it, you will feel more confident and comfortable when back at home if you don't have to worry about differences between machines.

If you don't have a sewing machine, or don't want to bring yours, we have lots of machines available for you to borrow.

Just let us know at the time of booking whether you are going to bring your machine or use one of ours.

Payment is required at the point of booking.

For the majority of our lessons, you can choose to bring your own fabric or buy fabric, at a discount, from us.  For a small number of lessons, fabric is included.  If you are not sure if fabric is included or not please consult the lesson page on this site, or contact us using the form on this page and we will be happy advise.

If your course includes fabric, we will contact you approx 1 week before the course to ask for your fabric choices.

If your want to buy your fabric from us using the available discount, contact us using the form on this page and we can arrange for an invoice to be raised with the discount applied.



If you need to cancel up to 3 weeks before the start of the class, we will offer you the choice of transferring to another date, or a refund minus a £15 cancellation fee (if we manage to sell the place this reduces to £5).

If you need to cancel within 3 weeks of the start date, we are sorry but we cannot offer you a refund or transfer.  With less than 3 week's notice it is difficult for us to fill places and it isn't fair on other people who would have liked a place, had they had more notice. We can put you on a reserve list for a future date, and if we still have spaces 3 weeks before the start of a course, we will slot you in at no additional cost.
